Cordale Handy Remember My Name - Recycled Eco-Friendly Premium Unisex T-Shirt

Cordale Handy was shot and killed by St. Paul police on March 15th, 2017.
 
Responding to what they labeled a “domestic disturbance,” the St. Paul police arrived while Cordale was in the middle of a mental health crisis. He needed actual help—trained professionals who knew how to de-escalate. Instead, the police saw a chance for violence. Cordale, disoriented by their flashlights, sat on the ground with his hands up. He threw away his inoperable gun just as they demanded. His girlfriend and neighbors desperately tried to tell the police the gun was broken and unloaded, but they shot him anyway.
 
None of the officers wore body cameras. Their accounts were full of contradictions, with one officer later admitting, "I don't remember it that way" when confronted with new evidence. The Ramsey County Attorney refused to charge the officers involved, allowing them to continue on with their lives as if they hadn't just taken another. This is the norm—few officers who kill are ever charged, and even fewer are held accountable.
Despite the unimaginable pain of losing her son, Cordale’s mother, Kimberly Handy-Jones, founded the Cordale Q. Handy In Remembrance Of Me Foundation. She now helps other families facing the same devastating loss by providing headstones for loved ones killed by police violence.
